Flax Seeds, Seeds, and Nuts For Constipation Relief

June 29th, 2008

Here are a variety of home remedies for constipation using flax seeds with other seeds and nuts. They provide the fiber and oils that you need to relieve constipation. Drinking plenty of water with these home remedies will make them more effective.

Mix equal parts of flax seeds, almonds, sunflower seeds and sesame seeds. It is o.k. to mix only three of these seeds, if that is all you have.

Grind them in a coffee grinder to a power. You can eat the power or add it to a nondairy smoothie, a juice, or morning cereal. You can also sprinkle it on your evening salad. Use up to 3 tablespoons twice a day.

This mixture will provide you with extra fiber and a batch of minerals.

Drink plenty of water when using ground up seeds.

Flax seeds are astringent and have laxative action. They are good for mild or moderate symptoms of constipation.

Using an excess of flax seed can contribute to the back up in your colon. Flax seeds also have small traces of prussic acid, which is toxic in large amounts. But it would take a lot of flax seeds to reach the toxic level.

Place between 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon of flax seed in 8 oz of warm water and let it sit for one hour. Then just before going to bed, drink the 8 oz. After drinking this glass of flax seed drink another 4-8oz of water.

Flax Seed and Apple Cider Vinegar

Boil 1 cup of distilled water.

Add 1 tablespoon of flax seed and continue boiling the water for 10 minutes - tea will become jelly like.

After this cools down add 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar.

Drink cup of this combination in the morning and until you get good daily bowel movement.

Flax seed contains the essential oil omega 3. If you lack this oil in your diet you will be prone to disease.

Apple cider vinegar (ACV) is another extremely important food you should include in your daily eating. ACV is high in various minerals and in particular potassium

Flax seeds and oat bran

To get your bowels moving again, prepare the following mixture.

Mix 1 tablespoon of flax seed and 1 tablespoon of oat bran into a glass of distilled water. Let it sit overnight. First thing in the morning, take 2 tablespoons. Wait half an hour before eating anything. Do this every morning until your bowels start moving

Flax Seed Oil

Our body does not make omega 3 oil and we need to get it in our diet.

For constipation, mix one tablespoon of flax seed oil with goat or cow yogurt. Add a little honey if you like. Take this mixture right about hour before bedtime.

Do not heat flax seed oil and keep it refrigerated. Heating it may cause some cancer causing compounds.

There you have it, a variety of home remedies for constipation. Use these home remedies every day and you will see the difference in your regularity.

Reversing Macular Degeneration: Without Drugs Or Surgery

June 9th, 2008

I would like to report some anecdotal research findings that suggest how our beliefs and our traumatic life history can be directly linked to some of the physical illnesses that we experience during our lives. Additionally, I would like to report that there is now a modality that can permanently release the beliefs and the memories of trauma from consciousness, or as I think of it from the human bio-field, and effectively begin to eliminate the illness at the physical level.

I report on a middle aged man who had developed Macular Degeneration (MD) in one eye some years ago. MD manifests as a progressive loss of vision in the center of one’s visual field. In other words one starts to lose the ability to read, to make out faces and so on. The peripheral vision is spared. The latter is the vision that one uses to see the stars at night.

Using a new modality called the Mind Resonance Process(TM) (MRP) I was able to help this individual recover almost 90% of his central vision after only eight sessions of MRP. MRP works by effectively uncovering beliefs, emotions and memories that are in any way related to the history of the physical problem, the visual defect in his case. MRP then allows the individual to completely release or erase from consciousness these elements. The net result is spontaneous recovery of the problem at the physical level.

This concept is also outlined in several other articles I have written i.e. “The Divine Holographic Energy Field”, “The Healing Power of Love” , “We Are Not Our Personalities” and “Tuning the Human Bio-field: A New Definition of Consciousness” to name a few.

This new conceptual approach to healing I feel will usher in advances that will far outreach what most medical technologies are currently trying to achieve. It also is a sign of how capable we are of healing ourselves.

Weightloss Surgery

May 31st, 2008

Weightloss surgery is regularly a decent preference for those who want to lose a large amount of weight. Lots of individuals who have this type of weightloss surgery have made an effort numerous times to take advantage of diet, exercise and medications to get rid of the weight and have failed. Weightloss surgery is a life changing practice and frequently results in a substantial volume of weight loss. While there are lots of benefits of this surgery, there are risks involved, as well.

If you are thinking about any kind of weightloss surgery, it is important that you know and understand the risks of the surgery. There are both short term ramifications and this surgery can additionally bring about some long-term effects. Right after surgery, patients will notice some amount of discomfort. This is due to the-place-of-the-incision. With a laparoscopic operation, the incisions are smaller and the healing and soreness in the area is less than with an open-procedure. For patients that have an open-procedure, such as in a gastric bypass, there will generally be additional tenderness while the incision heals. During the first few weeks, patients will only be able to bear a liquid diet. Anything other than liquids can aggravate the system and create nausea, vomiting and bowel disorders. In the weeks that follow more food can be added to the diet, but if too much or the wrong types of food are added, it can also cause undesirable side effects. When the stomach and incision has completely healed, these side effects usually subside.

Also patients experiencing certain sorts of weightloss surgery are more predisposed to developing a condition termed “dumping.” This is when food is passed very quickly from the stomach to the large intestines. As a result the patient will experience nausea, abdominal cramping, sweating, dizziness and diarrhea. Just about all gastric bypass patients cite this condition, but those who have the lap band operation rarely report this as a side effect.

Other more severe side effects of this surgery can include stomach ulcers, acid reflux, heartburn, bloating from gas, constipation, difficulty swallowing, nausea and vomiting, dehydration and in serious cases, death. With the lap band operation, the band can deflate causing leakage or the band can slip. In other instances, the band can erode into the stomach necessitating an additional surgery or the stomach pouch can become enlarged. Sometimes weightloss surgery can in addition cause obstruction of the stomach, which can be caused by food, swelling, improper band placement and stomach twisting. There are other side effects from this type of operation that a GP can talk over with each patient.

Baby scans - baby ultrasound company

April 18th, 2008

The method know as three dimensional ultrasound scanning is that can be used during early pregnancy, it provides 3d images of the unborn baby. Most times the ultrasound samples are collated and joined together and made into a movie to created a “4d ultrasound”.

Three dimensional scanning works in the same manner to the normal scanning methods except that the ultrasound scanning pulses are sent from many directions. The ultrasound waves can be reflected back then captured to provide info to construct a 3d picture in much the same way as 3d pictures. 3d ultrasound was started by stephen smith and olaf von ramm at duke university.

It’s important to understand that sonologists all over the world always pictured three-dimensional images of anatomy or pathology in their minds while doing their 2d scans. However, until recently it was almost impossibel to do this kind of reconstruction on on data using ultrasound. The advent of 4d baby scans for the first time allowed us a peek into the thinking of a sonologist and hence letting us see the images on the ultrasound machine.

4d ultrasound imaging should utilize ultrasound energy following the same limits as conventional 2d ultrasound to create the 3d images. While there is no information of harm due to 3d ultrasound, its use in non-medical situations should be undertaken with the understanding that a risk may exist.

MSM: Enhance Your Overall Beauty, Your Hair, Nails, And Skin While Reducing Allergic Reactions

April 5th, 2008

Welcome to another exciting issue of “The Home Made Medicine e-zine”.

This time you are going to be blown away by the article I’m about to put in your hands, if you are really serious about your health, you will jump and run to your health store as soon as you finish reading this piece. Ok…ok enough hype! Let’s get right to it.

Rarely in life we came across a pharmaceutical drug or and herb that can deliver many benefits, although you have heard me talk about many herbs that can reduce acne while regulating hormone production, and providing essential vitamins, but none compare to the immense benefits provided by a mineral called MSM (methyl-sulfonyl-methane). If you ever dreamed about a product that can enhance your overall beauty, by making your hair stronger, thicker and shinier, while reducing your allergic reactions to foods, animals, dust and pollen.

Although Sulfur has existed for millions of years on the hearth’s crust, and all living things have sulfur in them including us, its importance was recently discovered. Every cell in the human body contains sulfur, it is an important constituent of our skin, nails, and hair. It is also the main ingredient in collagen, the connective tissue that holds the body together.

MSM’s properties and benefits have generated many questions which we will answer in this issue:

What is sulfur, and why do I need it?

Sulfur is an acid-forming mineral, that is part of several amino acids. As we mention before sulfur is present in every cell of your body, and it is needed for the production of collagen, which in turn it is used by the body to generate tissue and cartilage, this makes it very important for people suffering from arthritis, more on this later, many vitamins and amino acids, that are essential for proper functioning of the body contain sulfur as well.

What are good food sources of this sulfur?

Beef, poultry, fish, milk, and eggs are all good food sources of sulfur. Soybeans, turnips, dried beans, brussels sprouts, and kale, are also good. Broccoli, cabbage, garlic and onions contain small amounts of sulfur, a very important point needs to be made, vegetables containing small amounts of sulfur lose their properties when cooked. Chances are that your diet does not provide you with enough sulfur, plants absorb sulfur from the soil, animals eat plants absorbing sulfur from it, and we eat both animals and plants absorbing sulfur from them, however the use of chemicals and pesticides contribute the depletion of sulfur from the soil. It is very likely that the foods we eat do not contain the necessary sulfur we need to keep a healthy level of the mineral in our bodies.

If you consume too much processed foods, then for sure you are not getting enough sulfur.

What could happen if I have a sulfur deficiency?
Several things could go wrong if you suffer from sulfur deficiency, one of them, is the inability to replace or repair tissue, you can also experience heighten sensitivity to pain. Also, sulfur deficiency is associated with gastrointestinal problems, arthritis, acne and memory loss. Allergies may also become a problem, plus skin, nail and hair problems are very common.

As you can see MSM is a fundamental mineral to maintain a healthy body. In our next issue we will study the benefits that MSM provide to our external appearance, We will answer the questions. What MSN does to my skin, hair, and nails? How acne sufferers can benefit from MSM? Can MSM make me look younger? And many more.

So don’t miss the next issue of the HomeMade Medicine e-zine.

If you normally buy MSM you are paying to much! If want to start taking MSM make sure you get the best quality and the best price. Visit our health store to find more information on MSM in capsules, doses, and plain helpful information; search for MSM.

Eating Helps Cheating Diabetes!

March 31st, 2008

Diabetes is a medical condition where the pancreas either loses its ability to create insulin, or the body fails to use the insulin that it has produced. As it is the insulin’s job - via a substance known as glucose - to supply to our body with the energy that is needed to simply exist, whichever of these two fundamental necessities functions inefficiently, it can lead to serious problems in your eyes, kidneys, nerves, gums, teeth and most serious of all the heart.

Thankfully, there are many medical treatments available, but sufferers can help themselves through adopting a healthy diet. Eating plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as foods containing whole grains, which contain Vitamin B and Chromium - both known to be important in controlling blood sugar levels - are also very good natural remedies for diabetes. Chromium helps regulate and produce insulin, so this is often referred to as the Diabetic Mineral. Good sources of Chromium include brewer’s yeast, nuts, cheese, oysters, and mushrooms. Several minerals are important in diabetes management as they can perform in a similar way to insulin, one being Vanadium, which is a trace mineral found in many food sources such as: butter, skimmed milk, lobster, vegetables and vegetable oils.

There are also numerous nutritional supplements available to aid diabetics, in particular varieties of the Vitamin B, plus Vitamin E. Pregnant women who suffer from diabetes should also be very careful with their food intake; easier said than done with the inevitable cravings. However, dependant on factors such as weight, pregnancy stage and baby’s growth rate; the expectant mother should limit the number of calories and proportion of foods from the accepted groups, i.e. fats, carbohydrates, proteins, dairy, fruits and vegetables. It all sounds very complicated, but in reality it is comparatively straightforward and like anything else, it’s just a case of getting use to it. Plus, if it stabilises or even improves your health, then there really isn’t any justification in not putting it into practice!

Foot Fungus And What To Do About It

March 28th, 2008

The fungus that causes Athlete foot is named Trichophyton and is a skin infection.

Athlete foot is caused by the ringworm fungus (”tinea” in medical jargon). Athlete foot is also named tinea pedis. The fungus that causes Athlete foot can be found on floors and in socks and clothing.

The symptoms of Athlete foot include itching and burning feet. The skin frequently peels and, in particularly hard cases, there may be some cracking, discomfort and bleeding as well. When the feet, or other areas of the body, remain moist, warm and irritated, this fungus can flourish and infect the upper layer of the skin.

When the skin is injured by the fungus, bacteria can also invade the skin. Those bacteria can cause a bad odour. Bacterial infection of the skin and resulting inflammation is also known as cellulitis. This is especially expected to take place in the elderly, individuals with diabetes, chronic leg swelling, or who have had veins removed, and patients with week immune systems.

The treatment of Athlete foot can be split up into two parts. The first, and the most important part, is to make the infected area less suitable for the Athlete foot fungus to grow. This means keeping the area clean and dry. The second part of
treatment is the use of antifungal creams. Numerous medications are available including miconazole, clotrimazole, etc. Ask your health care professional or pharmacist for a counsel. Treatment should be continued for 4 weeks.

If you notice any redness, increased swelling, bleeding, or if your infection is not clearing up, see your healthcare practitioner. If a bacterial infection is also occurring, an antibiotic may be required.

Huge amount of information on Foot Fungus - check out for your self.
